Jill and Jeff's Tour Of The Amish Country, September, 2007

Our first day out on the road. What a beautiful day it was too! Starting temps were in the 50's and they rose into the 70's later in the day. Perfect!
Another shot that I took on our first day on the road.We were totally knocked out with the deep blue of the sky and snow white clouds.
Another shot across the grain fields of this farm.

Here are some of our cohorts on the road. From the left, my wife, Jill, and new friends Dave, Al and Cindy. I believe everyone had a wonderful tour.

Another beautiful shot across a farm. Every direction you turned was one beautiful scene after another.
I was tooling on my bike through a wildlife preservation area and happed to spot this beautiful hawk. I was, literally, 25 feet from him. He was watching me too! I watched him for about five minutes- just enjoying the experience.

Well, I guess he grew tired looking at me and decided to fly off. Just as the hawk flew away a person stopped by who was having a frantic moment. He said he had tried for a week to get a shot of the hawk with no luck. And, you, riding a bicycle happed to get these awesome shots. He was destroyed. He had this huge camera/lens setup and I had my little hand-held digital. I believed that made him feel worse. Sorry..

One of the many beautiful covered bridges we saw and rode through.
Jill and I enjoying the beautiful scenery of this covered bridge that crossed over a tumbling stream on one of the many country lanes which we rode.
Still another pristine farm.
Our fearless leaders, Scamp and Rascal owners, Karen and Paul. They did a super job with the tour. Check out their web site.
And, still another of the endless, beautiful landscapes in the Amish Country.
Jill begins her trek through another of the many beautiful covered bridges of the region.
Sunflowers galore. You'd think you were at the tour de France instead of Pennsylvania. There were scenes like this wherever you looked.
Jill is looking like a pro as she rides alongside a beautiful patch of sunflowers.
Now, this is my kind of place. I love autumn scenes where there are vibrant colors intermixed with hues of autumn. There is just something about the contrasting hues that I like.
Here is another picture I took similar to the one above. Lots of contrasting colors and some great reflections in the water.
Here I am taking a quick break to enjoy this beautiful, peaceful place. I could learn to love this type of bike ride.
One of the many beautiful barns that you see in this area. What a melting pot of history and beauty.
Why am I standing in a cemetary? Nothing weird here folks, I was looking at several graves that had been marked as resting places of soldiers who fought in the American Revolutiuon. You couldn't help but to feel some sense of respect and reverence.
