There
is a light BEFORE the end of the tunnel.
Can
you give me a couple of moments to share with you some wonderful
news? This news could make a big difference in your life.
A difference that you could never even imagine.
Several
years ago, I reached a point in my life where I had about
everything a person could want. A nice home, new car, good
job, family, friends- I thought I had everything! But,
I still felt I was missing something. I thought everything
I could achieve, goals I could reach, money I could make
or things I could buy would bring me peace, happiness and
contentment. I was wrong. completely wrong. I was missing
the one thing that would bring me the fulfillment in life
which I wanted and needed.
That
one thing was a relationship with God.
I
was raised in church. I was an ordained deacon, a Sunday School
teacher,
Bible School Director, youth counselor and sang in the choir.
I went to Sunday School for over twenty years without missing
a single Sunday. I have the awards to prove it. Yes, I was
very religious. I knew a lot about God and had done a lot
of things for God. But, guess what?
It
did not bring me spiritual fulfillment because I was
not walking WITH God.
I
was religious but I didn't need or want a religion. I needed
a relationship
with God. Religion is man's way of trying to reach God through
his own efforts. And, my own efforts did nothing for that
emptiness that only God can fill. I wanted a personal relationship
with God. Period.
By
the way, I was a saved, born again Christian. Still, I wasn't
at fellowship with God. That may sound strange but let me
give you an example. I am the son of my parents, however,
if I never associate with them, there is no relationship
with my parents- even though I am still their son. That's
the way my life with God was. I knew Him, knew about Him
and I was His child, yet there wasn't a relationship.
I
also knew that I was a sinner and was not living the life that
God wanted me to live. My sinful and self-centered human
nature was a stumbling block between me and God. Then, I
made a decision to change my life. But, with God's help!
I
was going to make a new start on God's terms and not my own.
Plus,
I didn't have to go looking for God. I realized He had been
with me all along. I just hadn't let Him come into my life
where He desired to be. And, where I wanted Him to be.
I
opened the door for God to come in.
Where
is God in your life? Do you know that God loves you? In this
world of pain, trouble, hurt, and suffering there is someone
who loves YOU. And, yes, that someone is GOD.
My
Lord and my God created me and loves me because I am His creation
AND His child. God created me in His image and wants me to
be in fellowship with Him. He knows my faults and imperfections,
my weaknesses and shortcomings, and 2000 years ago He knew
I needed a Savior because of this human nature.
God sent
His son, Jesus Christ, to be my savior and take my life upon
Himself- carrying it to the cross. Jesus Christ was sacrificed
on the cross and shed His blood so that I could be reconciled
to God. God made a way through the death of His son, Jesus
Christ, for me to have forgiveness of my sins and eternal
life in fellowship with Him.
And
this is a FREE gift of grace- God's grace.
Grace
means "unmerited
favor". This gift of grace was freely given to me. It did
not cost me a thing because Jesus Christ had already paid
the price. All I had to do was believe and accept Jesus Christ
to be my Lord and Savior!
God's
grace has given me forgiveness of my sins and eternal
life because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ- God's
own son.
There
is also something I would like to invite you to do. That is
to have a talk with God. Is it about time you did? If
your relationship with God has fallen by the side like mine
had, now is the time you can talk with God and renew that
fellowship. Jesus said "come unto me".
Yes,
He is already waiting for you. Will you take the step to
rebuild that fellowship?
And
you, that have never known the saving grace of Jesus Christ,
you
can do it now. Jesus Christ is waiting and wanting
you to come and begin a brand new and glorious relationship
with Him. You can have the gift of grace that will give you
forgiveness of your sins and eternal life. All you have to
do is believe and accept Jesus Christ to be your Lord and
Savior. Your life will be changed forever!

Dear
Jesus,
"I
accept You as my Lord and Savior. I believe that You are the
Son Of God. I believe that Your blood was shed for me and my
sinful nature to reconcile me to God. Forgive me and come now
into my life. I commit myself unto You, Jesus. Amen"
